Kylesku is situated at the meeting point of Loch a'Chairn Bhain, Loch Glendhu and Loch Glencoul and has long been an important crossing point for travellers in the west of Sutherland. A ferry ran here from the early nineteenth century followed by a car ferry service which started between the wars. In 1984 the ferry service was replaced by this spectacular curving road bridge designed to compliment the stunning scenery in which it is set. The bridge - which has won several awards - has often been described as one of the most beautiful bridges in the world.
